Spirit stones are the blue crystals at the top of the guild screen. They can be gathered from spirit wells in the Gates to Magmhell section, or from winning fights in that section. They are spent upgrading buildings. You benefit from upgrading buildings by getting access to the higher level building, and increasing your reputation.
